How to know which mesh we should use
The first factor to consider when choosing a mesh size is the level of detail of the image. For example, if your image is extremely detailed, a screen with a low mesh size would not maintain the detail. Fine lines or dots in the image would simply fall through the mesh openings, leaving you with a poor representation of what your design should be. If you have a low-detail image and use a high or very fine mesh, you will have problems due to lack of ink as less ink will pass through the mesh.
Thread count of each screen printing mesh:
- 43 threads for general textile
- 62 threads for textile with more detailed designs
- 90 threads for very detailed textile and screen printing on paper
- 120 threads for screen printing on paper and textile with four-color process
