Water-based screen printing inks: quality and sustainability

GREEN EARTH lacquers are formulated following the European Union ecological regulations, with ingredients free of heavy metals, formaldehydes, and APEOS. Additionally, they have the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, ensuring safe use in clothing for adults and children.

Usage recommendations for textile screen printing

These opaque inks for cotton come in 1 kg containers. For optimal performance:

• Work with a good amount of ink on the screen, stirring frequently.

• Add between 10% and 15% retarder per kilo of lacquer to prevent it from drying quickly on the mesh.

• To use on polyester or sportswear, add the Textile Catalyst.

Ink curing and drying

Curing on heat press:

• Temperature: 160 °C

• Time: 30 seconds

Curing with drying tunnel:

• Temperature: 120 °C to 140 °C

• Time: 4-5 minutes

Manual drying:

• Let air dry for at least 8 days if no oven or heat press is available.

Tip: Always iron the lacquer after drying for a more uniform and durable finish.

Compatibility with screens and colors

• Recommended for 43-thread screens, although they can also be used with 34 to 61 threads.

• Fluorescent and phosphorescent colors are not compatible with the GREEN EARTH SNAKE range.
