Interior size measurements, not including wooden frames.
Screen printing screens for textiles and paper, with white or yellow mesh for paper, with various thread counts for higher definition.
White Mesh and Yellow Mesh
White mesh allows the emulsion to expose more quickly, making the exposure faster. However, the white thread causes light to scatter, which can cause loss of detail or blurry image edges. Since lower mesh counts require a thicker emulsion coating, they usually have white meshes to help speed up the exposure process.
Yellow meshes cause little or no light dispersion, so image details are preserved. The downside is that exposure takes 50% longer.
Characteristics
Screen printing screen with wooden frame stretched with 43 threads:
Ideal for textile printing. All-terrain. It is the most used.
Screen with wooden frame stretched with 55 threads:
It is a very versatile thread count; you can work on textiles with details and paper.
Screen with wooden frame stretched with 90 threads:
It is used for very precise work, with details and small text. Remember that if you use water-based textile inks (lacquers), you will need to use retarder liquid to prevent the ink from drying too quickly on the screen.
Screen with wooden frame stretched with 120 threads:
For high-definition work on paper or textile four-color printing.
Wood frame thickness measurements:
4.5 cm wide
3.5 cm high
